People, Culture, and Community
WMed is focused on building and enhancing a welcoming, supportive, and engaging culture for all, with a strong emphasis on wellbeing. We use a holistic residency recruitment, selection, and ranking process, seeking a residency program to reflect the patient population that we serve in our community. We also educate the faculty and staff who participate in residency interviews on illegal and unethical questioning during interviews, and interview questions that may introduce bias into the recruitment and selection process. WMed has a strong focus on culture and wellbeing of its community and is committed providing high-quality medical education, innovative research, and exceptional patient care.
Interview Criteria
- We strongly prefer applicants who have passed USMLE or COMLEX Steps 1 and 2 on the first attempt.
- The minimum USMLE and COMLEX Scores used to determine interview eligibility for applicants is determined annually by the Program Director.
- Applicants must have passed CS or PE by their second attempt
- We ask applicants to have graduated from medical school less than five years ago.
- Applicants must have a minimum of six months U.S. clinical experience.
- We prefer at least one letter of reference from a Family Medicine physician.
