Biosketch

Asra Usmani, MD, is a graduate of the Aga Khan University, Pakistan, where she held numerous student representative positions and continued to work as a research associate and co coordinator for the past 2 years following her graduation. In this role, she managed and headed AKU's collaborative research work with Boston Children's Hospital and University of Virginia to map the early childhood gut using single cell sequencing data. She also worked on projects under the Bill & Melinda Foundation focused on improving maternal and child health in Pakistan. She is currently a resident physician at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine where she will be training to become a pediatrician.
