Copyright and Scholarly Content

We, in the medical school community, are committed to ethical practices that demonstrate respect for copyright-protected and scholarly content in accordance with U.S. Copyright Law. Our institutional policy, Publishing Copyright-Protected and Scholarly Content, applies to faculty, fellows, residents, students, staff, and affiliates of education and research programs. Our Medical Library provides an online guide related to copyright, fair use, plagiarism, and citing sources.

Penalties for copyright infringement may include civil and criminal liabilities, including fines, damages, court costs, attorney fees, or imprisonment. For more information, see Title 17, United States Code, Sections 504 and 505.
