Conferences
Conferences will be held in a 4-hour block on Thursday mornings. Schedules are built to facilitate attendance at the conferences which will be held at The Mawby Center. The educational experience will include lecture-discussion, journal clubs, quality review, board review, workshops and wellness activities. The conference schedule is planned in an 18-block rotation. Residents will be teachers as well as learners and will present topics related to specific rotations, morbidity and mortality review, interesting cases and case reviews.
Inpatient Family Medicine and Outpatient Experiences
Inpatient Family Medicine will be provided to our family medicine patients at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. The care and education will be coordinated by residency faculty with support of the Internal Medicine Hospitalist Services physicians who are in-house 24-hours per day.
Outpatient Experiences will include continuity clinics at Grace Health in the Family Medicine Practice with pediatrics and ancillary services such as complex care management and quality and administration. In the community, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including multiple subspecialty offices and with CentraCare (a local Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly or PACE) providing care to elders in the community.
Electives are scheduled in the PGY2 and PGY3 years and offer traditional subspecialty, inpatient and outpatient options that you can pick to create the learning opportunity that will align with your future goals.
